BELLINGHAM, Mass. (WLNE) — Bellingham police said they expect the house that was hit by a tractor-trailer Thursday to be demolished.
Police said the crash happened on Hartford Avenue.
Police added the incident was a “major motor vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer unit.”
The truck, said authorities, was hauling a trailer carrying construction equipment, when it left the right side of the roadway.
The truck traveled through the yard of 103 Hartford Ave. before hitting the back of 107 Hartford Ave., causing “catastrophic damage to the structure.”

The driver had to be flown to the hospital in critical condition, police said.
A dog was in the truck at the time of the crash, but was OK and taken by animal control.
A neighbor told ABC 6 News they saw the tractor-trailer barrel through their yard before crashing into the home next door.
“I heard like a freight train come through the front yard, and I was like, ‘Is that a truck?'” explained Eric, a neighbor.
Police said Hartford Avenue was fully open by 4 p.m. They expect an additional road closure for when the home is demolished.
